In 2017, it appears that elevators have advanced to their highest point possible. After all, we can now travel between 88 floors in 2 minutes and have created some of the smoothest and safest machinery available. The team here at Elevators Ltd however are always interested in learning more about our industry and in this blog, we’re going to go over where we think the future of elevators could be heading…
The most recent articles that have been released during the past decade promise a positive future for elevators as we know them today. In fact, it is strange to think that the practice of lifts which travel up and down may not be common in a few decades as the proposal for horizontal elevators is made public. It is though that the introduction of these singular buildings with 100’s of floors that have multi blocks will take up less space in an area whilst also helping to increase the capacity of an elevator by up to 50%. In addition to this, many suspect that the waiting times for the everyday elevator will also be made much smaller.
These elevators have been deemed ‘lifts with no limits’ and suggest a change where we abandoned the pulleys and drives we have known for years and swap them out for magnets. The reasons behind these theories regard efficiency as magnet use much less energy.
Nobody knows what the common elevator will look like in 20-50 years’ time- however it is certain that we may be in store for some serious modern developments and the team here at Elevators Ltd are excited to see how it all turns out!
In fact, theorising how things may turn out in the future is always an exciting prospect and the team here at Elevators Ltd hope that the popularity of lifts continues to grow as the development of them advances. For more information, get in contact with the best lift company around today!
