We all know that Westminster is home to the Queen and the Royal family, and the Houses of Parliament but it appears to be famous for another reason; constant faulty lifts at the Westminster tube station. It is the third year running that the lifts have occurred a break down and here are a couple of shocking statistics for you; in 2013, the five lifts broke down 99 times and were out of service for 2,000 hours.
The public are dependent on lifts especially in stations and for those pushing a pram, or relying on them for disabled access, or even because they are carrying heavy bags for their travels, it can become extremely frustrating. We know only too well how busy and popular London is especially for tourists, and for those who want to do some sightseeing in Westminster, it doesn’t get them off to a great start. If one of our lifts has continuous faults and breaks down after lift maintenance and lift repair work, then our engineers will have to look at the bigger picture and get to the bottom of it. And in some cases, this can mean taking out the old lift and replacing it with a new lift installation.
Fortunately, the Elevators Ltd lifts are reliable and we always insist in carrying out regular lift maintenance work to prevent incidents like this from happening. Hopefully, if you’re travelling to London to see the Queen the lift at Westminster tube station will be in full working order.
